It is the time of year where people begin to feel the urge to loose a few pounds. Knowing very well that summer is coming and we might have to bare some of ourselves to the world weather it is in wearing a little less, or getting together more, or dare I even say it... having to put on a swimsuit (YIKES!!) if this is something that strikes fear in you the way it does me then we need to do something about it. I am currently working on getting my personal training certification and in that journey am very drawn to books on the subject. I just purchased a new book called The Spark. It is so far a fantastic book about weight loss, and gaining a perspective on living a new healthy lifestyle instead of jumping into a silly fad diet. But more than that it encompases the entire scope of why we want to loose the weight and give us help finding a focus. I really like the idea behind this book so far as it is one that I have been trying to put into my own life for a while. The idea that having a focus is what will help us to find our end result. In the book he words it so beautifully stating that if you were placed in the ocean with a life preserver to stay afloat but could not see a shore anywhere you would begin to swim but would be discouraged quickly because we would have no end in site. The lack of focus, in why we need to loose weight is sometimes all we need to finish this journey that we all to often start and end in discouragement. In the book he walks you through your own little program of doing this. He also has a website http://www.sparkpeople.com/ Where they have a FREE, yes you heard me free online diet plan and weight loss tracker. It will keep track of your goals, help you find a community, and a ton of other stuff... I am on there so you can come find me if you want. You can purchase the book through Amazon.com The Spark: The 28-Day Breakthrough Plan for Losing Weight, Getting Fit, and Transforming Your Life I fully recommend the book and the ideas behind it! Anyone else done this program or been on the website. I would love your feedback. I am only about 1/3 through reading, but plan to start this program ASAP!!
