doTERRA Skin Care

Just wanted to share I have been using this since about April, and at first I really didn't like it much, but I think there may have been a few things to take into consideration.  I had just started back on my birthcontrol pill so I think my hormones were way out of wack and didn't help.  I also was cleansing and as we all know when we cleanse some of the ick that we are flushing out of our system comes out through our skin.  Well I kept with the stuff since I had paid for it, and after using it for a couple of months have started to notice a difference in my skin.  It has helped with my blemishes, it has helped to reduce the appearance of fine lines, my poors have gotten smaller, and overall I have felt better about my skin.  I have used several skin care lines such as clinique, mary kay, sense, and now doTERRA, and have to say that I really love the doTERRA skincare line.    Let me share with you a little bit about each product.

First is the Cleanser
Facial Cleanser

With dōTERRA® Facial Cleanser, CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils of melaleuca and peppermint gently cleanse, lifting away impurities and leaving your skin feeling clean, fresh, and smooth. Cruciferous vegetable extracts also work to inhibit skin irritation and reduce oxidative stress to skin cells.
Retail: $22.00
Preferred Customer: $18.15
Wholesale:  $16.50

Second is the Scrub (I really love this since you don't feel like you have just scrubbed your face with sandpaper, but really feel like you have exfoliated afterward)

Invigorating Scrub

Invigorate and energize skin while exfoliating and polishing using this aromatic scrub. CPTG® essential oils of grapefruit and peppermint make the exfoliating step of your beauty regimen a refreshing, aromatic experience. Jojoba and cruciferous vegetable extracts leave skin protected and smooth, while other cutting-edge ingredients work to prevent irritation and the proliferation of skin discoloration.
Retail:  $24.00
Preferred Customer: $19.80
Wholesale:  $18.00

Pore Reducing Toner.  I have noticed the pores around my nose and on my chin are noticeably smaller since I began with this.  I actually loved it so much I ran out of this before anything else.

Pore Reducing Toner

Formulated to visibly reduce the size of pores, dōTERRA Pore Reducing Toner contains CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade® essential oils of lavender, ylang ylang, and german chamomile which work with cutting edge ingredients to calm sensitive skin, inhibit skin irritation, and reduce oxidative stress to skin cells.

Retail:  $23.33
Preferred Customer:  $19.25
Wholesale:  $17.50

Next is a miracle product.  The tightening serum, this is great for the under eye saggys and the fine lines.

Tightening Serum

Featuring CPGT® essential oils of frankincense, sandalwood and myrrh in generous proportion, dōTERRA® Essential Skin Care Tightening Serum is scientifically formulated to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and promote skin hydration. Tightening Serum tightens and smoothes skin naturally, providing both significant short-term and long-term tightening benefits, as well as increasing skin clarity for firmer, younger appearing skin.

Retail:  $66.00
Preferred Customer:  $54.45
Wholesale:  $49.50

And last but not least is the anit-aging moisturizer.  This smells fantastic and is not really oily and greasy like some moisturizers.

Anti-Aging Moisturizer

Cutting-edge ingredients combine with the CPTG® essential oils of lavender, jasmine, geranium, and frankincense to provide an anti-aging moisturizer that does more than moisturize and soften skin. Anti-Aging Moisturizer will target the visible signs of aging--improving skin elasticity and tone, reducing the appearance and number of wrinkles as well as helping to prevent the future signs of mechanical aging.

Retail:  $46.00
Preferred Customer:  $37.95
Wholesale:  $34.50

Here is the best part... if you add all these products up and purchased them seperately, The price for the entire line is
Retail:  $181.33
Preferred Customer:  $149.60
Wholesale:  $136.00  KEEP READING....
There is good news, if you purchase them as a kit, you get it for a discount and it is only
Retail:  $146.67
Preferred Customer: $121.00
Wholesale:  $110.00

If you compare this price to other lines out there, here is what you will see most of the nice lines such as Mary Kay, Clinique and other top selling name brands are about the same price or more for a similar line of products.  However, the one thing these are all lacking is that they don't have essential oils in them.  Not only are you going to get the benefit from having the essential oils on your skin, but they will absorb into your skin and you will get other benefits from them as well.

The last thing I wanted to share, because I do have a bag fetish is this adorable little bag to store all your skincare in.

According to Dr. Gillian McKeith drinking plenty of clean filtered water (min. 6-8 glasses) each day is essential for keeping skin hydrated and eliminating toxins through the kidneys and colon.

Marriage

I found this on facebook, and wanted to share as it brought tears to my eyes and made me realize how much I have to appreciate!!

MARRIAGE
By: Vicky Gray Deaton

When I got home that night as my wife served dinner, I held her hand and said, I've got something to tell you. She sat down and ate quietly. Again I observed the hurt in her eyes.

Suddenly I didn't know how to open my mouth. But I had to let her know what I was thinking. I want a divorce. I raised the topic calmly.

She didn't seem to be annoyed by my words, instead she asked me softly, why?

I avoided her question. This made her angry. She threw away the chopsticks and shouted at me, you are not a man! That night, we didn't talk to each other. She was weeping. I knew she wanted to find out what had happened to our marriage. But I could hardly give her a satisfactory answer; she had lost my heart to Jane. I didn't love her anymore. I just pitied her!

With a deep sense of guilt, I drafted a divorce agreement which stated that she could own our house, our car, and 30% stake of my company.

She glanced at it and then tore it into pieces. The woman who had spent ten years of her life with me had become a stranger. I felt sorry for her wasted time, resources and energy but I could not take back what I had said for I loved Jane so dearly. Finally she cried loudly in front of me, which was what I had expected to see. To me her cry was actually a kind of release. The idea of divorce which had obsessed me for several weeks seemed to be firmer and clearer now.

The next day, I came back home very late and found her writing something at the table. I didn't have supper but went straight to sleep and fell asleep very fast because I was tired after an eventful day with Jane.

When I woke up, she was still there at the table writing. I just did not care so I turned over and was asleep again.

In the morning she presented her divorce conditions: she didn't want anything from me, but needed a month's notice before the divorce. She requested that in that one month we both struggle to live as normal a life as possible. Her reasons were simple: our son had his exams in a month's time and she didn't want to disrupt him with our broken marriage.

This was agreeable to me. But she had something more, she asked me to recall how I had carried her into out bridal room on our wedding day.

She requested that every day for the month's duration I carry her out of our bedroom to the front door ever morning. I thought she was going crazy. Just to make our last days together bearable I accepted her odd request.

I told Jane about my wife's divorce conditions. . She laughed loudly and thought it was absurd. No matter what tricks she applies, she has to face the divorce, she said scornfully.

My wife and I hadn't had any body contact since my divorce intention was explicitly expressed. So when I carried her out on the first day, we both appeared clumsy. Our son clapped behind us, daddy is holding mommy in his arms. His words brought me a sense of pain. From the bedroom to the sitting room, then to the door, I walked over ten meters with her in my arms. She closed her eyes and said softly; don't tell our son about the divorce. I nodded, feeling somewhat upset. I put her down outside
the door. She went to wait for the bus to work. I drove alone to the office.

On the second day, both of us acted much more easily. She leaned on my chest. I could smell the fragrance of her blouse. I realized that I hadn't looked at this woman carefully for a long time. I realized she was not young any more. There were fine wrinkles on her face, her hair was graying! Our marriage had taken its toll on her. For a minute I wondered what I had done to her.

On the fourth day, when I lifted her up, I felt a sense of intimacy returning. This was the woman who had given ten years of her life to me.

On the fifth and sixth day, I realized that our sense of intimacy was growing again. I didn't tell Jane about this. It became easier to carry her as the month slipped by. Perhaps the everyday workout made me stronger.

She was choosing what to wear one morning. She tried on quite a few dresses but could not find a suitable one. Then she sighed, all my dresses have grown bigger. I suddenly realized that she had grown so thin, that was the reason why I could carry her more easily.

Suddenly it hit me... she had buried so much pain and bitterness in her heart. Subconsciously I reached out and touched her head.

Our son came in at the moment and said, Dad, it's time to carry mom out. To him, seeing his father carrying his mother out had become an essential part of his life. My wife gestured to our son to come closer and hugged him tightly. I turned my face away because I was afraid I might change my mind at this last minute. I then held her in my arms, walking from the bedroom, through the sitting room, to the hallway. Her hand surrounded my neck softly and naturally. I held her body tightly; it was just like our wedding day.

But her much lighter weight made me sad. On the last day, when I held her in my arms I could hardly move a step. Our son had gone to school. I held her tightly and said, I hadn't noticed that our life lacked intimacy.

I drove to office.... jumped out of the car swiftly without locking the door. I was afraid any delay would make me change my mind...I walked upstairs. Jane opened the door and I said to her, Sorry, Jane, I do not want the divorce anymore.

She looked at me, astonished, and then touched my forehead. Do you have a fever? She said. I moved her hand off my head. Sorry, Jane, I said, I won't divorce. My marriage life was boring probably because she and I didn't value the details of our lives, not because we didn't love each other anymore. Now I realize that since I carried her into my home on our wedding day I am supposed to hold her until death do us apart.

Jane seemed to suddenly wake up. She gave me a loud slap and then slammed the door and burst into tears. I walked downstairs and drove away.

At the floral shop on the way, I ordered a bouquet of flowers for my wife. The salesgirl asked me what to write on the card. I smiled and wrote, I'll carry you out every morning until death do us apart.

That evening I arrived home, flowers in my hands, a smile on my face, I run up stairs, only to find my wife in the bed - dead.
My wife had been fighting CANCER for months and I was so busy with Jane to even notice. She knew that she would die soon and she wanted to save me from the whatever negative reaction from our son, in case we push thru with the divorce.-- At least, in the eyes of our son--- I'm a loving husband....

The small details of your lives are what really matter in a relationship. It is not the mansion, the car, property, the money in the bank. These create an environment conducive for happiness but cannot give happiness in themselves. So find time to be your spouse's friend and do those little things for each other that build intimacy. Do have a real happy marriage!

If you don't share this, nothing will happen to you.

If you do, you just might save a marriage.
Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

A CHRIST-CENTERED MARRIAGE IS A MARRIAGE THAT IS SURE TO LAST A LIFETIME.

So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate. Matthew 19:6

I thought this was a great little story, and one worth sharing.  I hope it helps you remember what great things you have in your life and not to just pass them by.

Here is more about the tongue again...

Okay so get back to the mirror... do you have horizontal racks, small cracks/grooves... this can be called geographic tongue.  This can be a sign of mal-absorption, especially of the B vitamins.  B vitamins give us our energy.  This too has a few remedies.  Add a B-complex vitamin, take a digestive enzyme supplement, take echinacea tincture, try peppermint tea, nettle tea can help to fortify the body with B vitamins, try 1 oz aloe vera juice before each meal.

How about a thick yellow coating?  If you have this, you may have excess heat in your stomach and intestines.  This means that you probably don't have the healthy bacteria in your digestive tract that you need.  What to do, what to do?  Well start by adding 1 oz of aloe vera juice before your meals, try to take it easy (you may be overworking yourself), or try some chamomile tea.

Have a red tip on the tongue?  This can indicate emotional upset of stress.  This could be present stresses, or something from the past you are holding onto.  Well this one is not as easy, first try to deal with the stress, siberian ginseng and rhodiola are helpful for stress.  You may also want to look into the book "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die" by Carol Trueman.  This is a fantastic book about dealing with emotional stress.  In addition to how to release this and also how different emotions can present in our bodies when not properly dealt with.  The other book I would recommend for this is "You Can Heal Your Life" by Louise Hays.  Another fantastic book explaining similar things on how to deal with emotional stresss, and what it can to do our bodies.

This is all I know about the tongue and how you can learn about your body by checking it out.  Hope this has been as interesting and fun for you as it was for me!

Fun Fact

Coconut oil is fantastic, we know this as it stores well, and has that wonderful healthy fat we all need. But it is recently been found by researchers to stop more than 99% of harmful viruses and bacteria from reproducing in your body.  In our bodies it converts to monolaurin and compound that stops these viruses and bacterias.

Fun Fact

Did you know that pulling on your hair will give you a mood boost.  Gently tug on your hair right from the scalp (not to be uncomfortable GENTLY) hold a few seconds and move to a different section.  Apperently doing this increases cirulation to your scalp, head and brain, and this helps to stimulate creative thinking and counter the effects of stress!!  Stop stressing or I might pull your hair!

Back to the Tongue

To continue with things we can learn about our body from our tongue...

Sore tongue?  this is a sign of a nutrient deficiency usually of iron or vitamin B6 or niacin.  To remedy this take liquid mineral supplements, nettle teas, have your iron levels checked.

Burning tongue?  Stop eating salsa no really this is a sign that the stomach is lacking in gastric digestive juices.  To fix this you should try a cup of dandelion tea, a tsp of apple cider vinegar before each meal (I am constantly amazed at how many things this is a remedy for), or HCL tablets.

Swollen tongue and/or thick white/yellow coating?  This means your body has too much mucus, a lack of beneficial bacteria and possibly an elevation of yeasts in the body.  Try fixing this problem by cutting back on or eliminating for a short time dairy products as they are mucus-producing.  Eat more leafy greens, get som acidophilus pills, pau d'arco tea or herb, or try the homeopathic remedy Bryonia.

Don't worry there will continue to be more coming on this.

Fun Fact

Did you know that if you eat fatty foods for breakfast such as peanut butter on toast or an avacado on toast, egg with the yolk will rev up your body's metabolism. "The first meal you have appears to program your metabolism for the rest of the day," says Martin Young, Ph.D.  This is another reason why not skipping breakfast will help you to loose weight.

Breakdown

Do you wait til your car is broken before you do any maintenance on it?  I don't, mine gets fueled, oil changes, washed, tires changed and rotated, transmission flushed and all kinds of maintenance.  It is all too common today that we wait til our bodies are broken down before we fix them.  Why is it that our cars are better maintained than our bodies.  We don't get a second chance at our body, we have what we were born with, we can't just run out and buy a new one (well for the most part... I guess we can replace and enhance parts.)  Are you doing everything you can to keep your body in tip top condition?
What should we be doing?

First I think we need to nourish ourselves properly, this means getting our fruits and veggies, lean proteins, healthy fats (yes I said fats!) and whole grains.  This also means cutting back or eliminating the processed crap, junk food, foods high in trans fats, greasy drive-through food, and soda.  One rule that I like if god made it, it is probably good to eat, if man made it it is probably bad to eat (although it might taste good).

Second we need to give ourselves plenty of water.  Our bodies are mostly made of water, so it needs water to survive, and perform some of its most basic functions.  By the time you are thirsty you are already dehydrated, make it a habit to drink water regularly.  When you are drinking the amount of water you should, it is really hard to find time to drink much else.  And no drinking crystal light, or other liquids is not the same as drinking water.  Your body wants plain water (maybe a little lemon in it is ok).  A rule of thumb on the amount of water you should be drinking is to take your body weight divide it by 2 and that number is the number of oz of water that you should be drinking.  For example lets say you weigh 150lbs, you would divide by 2 which is 75, so you should be drinking 75oz of water if you weigh 150lbs.  Hope that makes sense.  Are you getting enough?

Think positive!!  It has been researched that by thinking positive thoughts we can actually change things in our bodies, and lives.  The power of our minds is incredible.  The average person uses less than 13% of their brain.  Can you imagine the power we would unleash if we could figure out how to use the rest.  It is so important to think positive.  Most happy people are not happy because life has been easy for them, they are happy because they have chosen to have a positive outlook.  There have been numerous stories of people who heal themselves from terminal illnesses through positive thinking.  If you think your life sucks, or your body is unhealthy, it probably will be.  If you think your life is wonderful,  or your body is healthy, it probably will be too.

Exercise your brain!!  this means pick up a book and read, take a class, learn something new!!  It is so important that we continue to exercise our brains and push ourselves to grow.  I know some of you don't love to read, that is okay, go take a class, no it doesn't have to be math or science, take an art class, or a sewing class, a pottery class, a alternative health class.  Keep your brain learning and active so it doesn't quit on you!

Exercise your body!!!  Physical exercise is a great way to combat stress, lose a little weight, and plain just stay healthy.  A great fittness blog is.http://www.imafitnessjunky.blogspot.com/ it is always talking about great exercises.  I feel that this is one of the most important things you can do for yourself is to exercise.  Exercise helps the body release endorphins that make you feel happy, so it is a great way to beat depression. I cannot say enough positive things about exercise, I love it!!  I know it is hard somedays, but just try to be active for atleast 20-30 minutes each day, you will start to notice you feel better, you are happier, you have more energy, and possibly a few lbs lighter after a little while.

Give your body proper rest.  They say for the average adult 7-9 hours of sleep!!  I would bet money that not even half of you are getting that much sleep.  The body and mind need that rest to recoup from the days work.  This is a very important part of your health, make sure you are getting the rest that you need.

Find ways to coupe with stress.  I know all of us in one form or another have stress in our lives.  While some stress is good for us, too much is very unhealthy.  They have found that stress is a leading cause in many diseases such as insomnia, heart disease and others.  I have a lot of my clients tell me that they don't feel stressed, and then they tell me about all the stuff that they are taking on, and all the things they are worried about and I know they are stressed.  I think we have gotten so used to the feeling of stress in our lives that we don't know what it feels like any more.  Exercise is a great way to help fight stress, relaxation techniques such as meditation are great, my preferance is a hot bath with essential oils, but find what works for you and use it!

Finally try a few alternative treatments.  The great thing about foot zone therapy is it helps to keep the entire body in balance and functioning as it should.  I have noticed that when I am being zoned regularly I get sick less often if at all, I have more energy, I am sleeping better, and I seem to be happier.  Another alternative therapy that is a great preventative maintenance is essential oils.  They help stimulate the body to heal itself, in addition to helping the moods, and many other things.  I love using my essential oils.  These are just a few examples of the types of alternative treatments you can do to maintain a healthy body.

I hope this helps you to remember to take care of yourself.  I know most of you have a lot of people in your life that you are caring for regularly, but remember if you don't take time to take care of yourself, there won't be time to take care of others.  Hope you all have a wonderful, happy, healthy day!

What is your tongue telling you?

Hmmm... what craziness could this post be about... I am sure you are all wondering.  Well some fun facts that the tongue can tell us about the state of health within our bodies.  It is an important indicator of health.  The tongue like the feet, hands, ears and eyes can give you an assessment of the organs of the body.  The very tip correlates to the heart, just behind that is the lungs, the right side shows us what is going on in the gallbladder, and the left side the liver.  The very center is representative of the condition of the stomach and spleen, and the back is the kidneys, intestines, bladder, and womb.

Crack down the middle of your tongue?  This is and indication of a weak stomach and digestion.  More often than not people with this are depleted of nutrients.  Can be bloated after eating and lack energy during mid day.  What do we do about this?  Well for starters a digestive enzyme with your meals is great.  Learn how to combine foods.  Stop the soda, and don't drink with your meals.  Foods that are nourishing for the stomach are artichokes, avocados, carrots, millet sprouts, parsnips, rice, squash, sweet potatoes, tofu, turnips, yams, herbal teas (fennel, peppermint, licorice)  Great oils for this are: basil, clary sage,  fennel, grapefruit, ginger, peppermint, lemon, lemongrass, marjoram, orange, oregano, rosemary, wintergreen, digestzen.

Teethmarks around the sides of the tongue? If this is the case for you, you might have intestinal or spleen problems, and probalby are suffering from nutritional deficiency.  If it is your spleen, you probably put up with gas and bloating.  Try some of these foods to nourish the spleen:  Yellow squash, mung beans, kidney beans, alfalfa, lychees, barley, millet, beets, oats, carrots, parsley, celery, parsnips, chicken, pumpkin, fennel, root veggies, fish, sweet potatoes, turnips, yams, foods high in chlorophyll such as leafy greens, algae, kale and chard.  A few herbs and spices to try: garlic, black pepper, ginger, cayenne pepper, ginseng, cinnamon, horseradish, dill, pau d'arco, astragalus. Essential oils for this are: basil, marjoram, ginger, rosemary, and lemon. One other thing you can do is the spleen thump... on both sides just below your sternum and then to the outside of your ribs, tap on both sides, this hits the meridian that runs through the spleen, and will help stimulate the spleen.

There is much more on this, and I will continue with this post throughout the week.

Positive Thought for the day

If you’ve decided to take up running as a means to begin exercising or as an addition to your current exercise regimen, you’ve completed the first step to becoming a runner. Or maybe you signed up for a race or someone else decided that you will start running. Either way, running can improve your life both physically and mentally.
When you add running segments to a walk, you can experience a sense of joy not bestowed by other life activities. With proper pacing and the right run-walk-run ™ ratio, you can build up your training--there is no need to experience pain or fatigue--and no need to puke!
I have helped over 700,000 people improve their lives through my books, beach retreats, running schools and individual consultations. Here are ten highlights from my book Getting Started.
1. First, gradually increase a gentle walk to 30 minutes. This can be done every day or every other day.
2. Then, insert segments of 5-10 seconds of running, every 1-2 minutes, every other day. If you want to exercise every day, walk only on the day between run-walks, otherwise, use it as a rest day. If all is well after three or four sessions, increase the running segments by five additional seconds each week. When you are able to comfortably run for 30 seconds and walk for 60 seconds, gradually decrease the walking amount by five seconds each week.
3. It is important to be regular with your run-walk--about every other day.
4. If you experience pain, inflammation or loss of function in the feet or legs, stop the run immediately. With the right (conservative) amount of walking, you can reduce injury risk down to zero.
5. To prepare for a 5K (3.1 miles), increase the distance of one of your run-walks each week by 5-10 minutes per week. Keep the ratio of running to walking (run 10 seconds/walk 50 seconds). When you have covered four miles on your long one, you are ready for a 5K.
6. To prepare for a 10K, increase the distance of the long run every other week by 10 minutes. On the shorter long run weekend, you can cover half of the distance of your current long run. When you have covered seven miles on the long run, you are ready for a 10K.
7. Don’t drink or eat very much before a run. Eating 100-200 calories of simple carbohydrate after a strenuous run will speed up the reloading of muscle fuel for your next run.
8. Run and walk slowly enough that you can carry on a conversation--even at the end. If you’re huffing and puffing, you went too fast.
9. Slow down and walk more when it’s hot. If you have increased the short runs to 30 sec run/30 sec walk, on a hot day you should run 15 sec/walk 30 seconds. The best time to run/walk on hot days is before the sun gets above the horizon.
10. Find ways to enjoy every run. I hear from dozens of former couch potatoes each week who tell me that running has improved the way they feel and live for the better: body, mind and spirit.

BUGS!!

So the bugs have come out in the last day, thankfully I had my Terrashield oil. I just mixed it in a spray bottle with some water and make sure to shake really well before each use, it is fantastic so far! This is a proprietary blend of oils that contains 15 essential oils proven to more effectively repel biting insect than synthetic repellents. A small amount of this blend will provide powerful coverage for up to 6 hours.

You can diffuse this oil into the air or apply a small amount to the skin. Place a few drops on ribbons, and place near air vents, windows or openings where buds might come in.

Hope this helps keep you bug free.

Terrashield essential oil $9.50 wholesale, or $13 retail.

Energy work

Just finished this fantastic book again.  I really enjoy this book.  It is a great introduction to energy work.  Energy work has to do with your Life-energy, or I like to think of it as the anatomy of your spirit.  It has different parts that make it up and sometimes there are blockages within that energy.  This book has so many wonderful tricks and tips on how to keep your energy doing what it should and working for you.  Little exercises that open up blockages, and help increase your energy.  I used a lot of the information in this book coupled with about 4 others in teaching my beginning energy class.  If you are wanting a great book on energy work this is where I would start.
