Run #3 to train for Ragnar!!

Ran for 30 minutes again today, but thanks to some good advice I slowed my pace a little and ran with no walking my first mile. My distance this time was 2.47 so a little improvment from last run. Just gotta keep it up!!! I found out I am runner #2 in the ragnar relay which means my first run will be just under 7 miles, with my next 2 being at 3 miles and 3.3 miles. Now I know a little better what to train for.

Stones and Abundance

Stones and Abundance – There are many stones of abundance, abundance can be more than just money, you can have an abundance of love, strength, or happiness. Or any other thing that you want to have abundantly. With most of these stones, I would recommend carrying them with you as a stone or jewelry. Another thing that you can do is to place them in your abundance corner. There are a couple of ways that you can do this. Your living room has an abundance corner if you walk into the

Healing Stones

Science has proved that Gemstone Healing works by changing the molecular structure of the water molecule and the body is 80% water.
What are Gemstones?
Life Force Energy is all around us, in the animals, plants, rocks, and minerals. All are connected together by this energy. Since ancient times people have used the gemstones' power of the earth’s energy to heal and bring balance to their lives. Much more than ornamentation, the gemstones had beauty, power and sacred meanings. In more recent years we have harnessed the power of gemstones to run watches, and power ultrasounds, electronic equipment, computers, televisions, watches, and lasers. Crystals can generate, regulate, transmit, receive, reflect, and store electromagnetic energy and light.

History of Gemstone Healing
The use of gemstones for healing is not a "new age" or alternative healing modality. For thousands of years, people have been using gemstones for their therapeutic effects. Ancient civilizations have left evidence that gemstones were used to heal disease, provide protection, and carried as talismans or amulets. Indian texts, Chinese medical books, Ebers Papyrus, and Biblical scriptures provide descriptions and uses of gemstones. The doctors and scholars from Greece, Rome, and Arabia wrote about the healing power of gemstones and their role in healing.

As early as the twelfth century Hildegard von Bingen recognized that medicine needed a holistic approach to treat physical and spiritual illnesses. She felt as though disorders could not be separated from environmental influences such as moon phases, poor diet, and bad habits. Gemstones were a component of her treatment plans for healing.
Across the oceans, North and South Native American and Australian Aborigine cultures also used gemstones for healing.

How Gemstones work
Gemstones are the gifts from the earth. Composed of the same minerals that our body, and the diet that nourishes us, is made from. Gemstones are filled with energy and are powerful energy conductors. This energy can be transferred from the gemstones to the body through the electromagnetic field. The energy from the gemstones realign our own (or animal’s) energy to dissolve disease and bring about health and balance.
All natural stones have some healing power. Hundreds of gemstones and crystals, along with their sub-types, are available. The qualities of the gemstones are many and varied (colors, shapes, inclusions, and frequencies) each carrying different vibrations and influences on the body. They increase consciousness, improve lives, decrease stress, and bring healing energies.

Healing with Gemstones
Interest in natural healing methods such as acupuncture, aromatherapy, crystal/gemstone therapy, herbs, and homeopathy is growing. Gemstones are powerful healing tools used to heal holistically, treating the whole person – on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. One definition of health is to be in a state of physical, mental, and social well-being.
Your belief in gemstones' ability to heal is not a prerequisite for their use. However, people who are more sensitive and animals will see results sooner and more intensely. Healing gemstones can work slowly and subtly. Sometimes only by looking back can you tell that change is happening.
In addition to studying the properties of gemstones, gemstone therapy is an intuitive process. By working with the healing aspects of gemstones, jewelry can be made specifically for an individual's needs. Jewelry can then be based on healing properties not just beauty.
As a reminder, gemstones are not to be used in place of medical treatment but along with it. Please follow your physician's treatment, and then use gemstones to aid in healing.

Selecting Gemstones
Healing stones need to be natural gemstones as free as possible from dyes, bleach, coating, or other enhancements. Such enhancements can interfere or block the effectiveness of the gemstones. Synthetic stones cannot be used for healing as they do not contain the earth's energy.
Gemstones have properties that attract, heal, protect, and/or enhance. Gemstones can influence every aspect of your life when properly selected, cleaned, cared for, and used correctly. Since gemstones have the power to bring harmony and health by affecting the spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical body, they can be selected based on their attributes. When selecting gemstones to treat the symptoms of illness, you need to know and treat the cause as well. Gemstone can:
• Bring positive attributes such as abundance, calmness, energy, encouragement, and focus.
• Influence emotional issues such as anxiety, depression, fear, and stress.
• Impact physical problems in any of the body systems such as digestive, respiratory, or immune.
Since people are naturally attracted to those stones which they need in their life at the moment, have the purpose for the gemstones in mind when selecting them for your jewelry.
Sometimes gemstones choose to move on to another person or take a vacation by getting lost. If this happens, you may no longer need the influence of that/those particular stones in your life right now. If you have an urge to pass your jewelry on to another person, remember to cleanse it first.

History reveals that all of them have used stones as medicine!

Running Website

I stumbled on to this fun little website, and thought I would share it with anyone interested in running or just getting into shape. Click here

Run #2 to Train for Ragnar

Okay so I ran today for 30 minutes again and I ran 2.31 miles I am hoping I can get to 4 miles in 30-36 minutes within the next month or so. We will see. I think that posting my times on the blog is going to help me with staying motivated to improve my time each run. Anyone else training for anything? Any tips for me? Right now I am just running as hard as I can for as long as I can and then walking for a minute or so in between... If there is a better way to do this let me know, I would be interested in some feedback.

Another good recipe

This recipe came to me from Macey's daily recipes. It sounds like with a little adjustment you could make this work, and it sounds really good.

Chunky Chicken Vegetable Soup

Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Servings: 5
Ingredients

1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
1 tsp oil
1 can chicken broth
2 cups water
2 cups assorted cut-up vegetables (such as sliced carrots, broccoli florets and chopped red pepper)
1 envelope Italian salad dressing & recipe mix
1 cup MINUTE White Rice, uncooked
2 Tbs chopped fresh parsley
Directions

COOK and stir chicken in hot oil in large saucepan until browned.

ADD broth, water, vegetables and salad dressing mix. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 5 minutes.

STIR in rice and parsley; cover. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes.

I think you could use this if you substituted the white rice with brown rice, and just made sure you only had the correct portion of chicken.

More Diet Recipes

Last night I had a request from one of my opponents to post my dinner idea

Salsa Chicken:

Marinate your chicken in salsa and hot sauce(make sure there is no sugar in it)
Grill your chicken (this counts as your protien) and cover it in salsa. (I counted this as 1 of my fist fulls of veggies)
In a saucepan put a little bit of water and some asparagus and cover, cook until it is cooked to your liking. I like mine a little crunchy still. Cut asparagus into little bit sized pieces(as this is one of the veggies that you can eat as much as you want you can load up on the asparagus) and put over baked potato(this is your carb). Drizzle with olive oil(this is your fat) and add some salt and pepper. If you have not used your 100 calories, this is where I might add some cheese over the top. Pretty simple. You could also put the chicken in the oven, or in a saucepan.

I just got this recipe in my e-mail from Macey's weekly recipes
Rice Del Sol

Cook Time: 5 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients

2 Tbs olive oil
1 cup chopped leeks, white part only
1 medium yellow squash, diced
1 cup cooked fresh corn, cut from cob
3 cup cooked rice
2 tsp finely grated lemon zest
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Directions

Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add leeks; cook until soft and golden, but not brown.

Add squash and corn; cook 5 minutes. Stir in rice and lemon zest. Cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Salt and pepper to taste.

This would work as long as you limited your corn. and you could eat this with a chicken breast, or add in some lean ground beef, eat with a steak.

Diet Week 1

Okay so it is official we have been on this fun little diet game adventure for 1 week. We will all be weighing in tonight, and I will post the points results for who is in the lead in addition to the percentage of weight lost by each player(pending they are okay with that.) It was a long week, and kind of hard. I think each person had their own individual struggles of what they did and didn't accomplish. My very hardest part was eating good. I struggled with not snacking on all the yummy easter candy that has just come out. I had a hard time getting back into the swing of things after taking a day off. In addition to things that come up like birthday dinners or someone offering to take you to dinner. I know a few people have mentioned the water being hard to get in. Which for me has probably been one of the easier things. It is interesting to see how different everyone is, and I can't wait for the results tonight!! One thing that has been really great is that I have had more energy since starting this than I have had in a long time. That just goes to show you if you feed and water your body properly, give it the rest and exercise it needs it will work how it should.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids

Did You Know?

* Omega fatty acids are not produced by the body, but they are required for the health of cells, heart and brain.
* These nutrients may help reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.*
* Omegas help maintain blood pressure and cholesterol levels already within normal ranges.
* Omega fatty acids increase elasticity in cell membranes. (this will help your skin look and feel wonderful!!)

There are a couple of products I can recommend for this, Nature's Sunshine has Super Omega-3 EPA (60 softgel caps) for 32.95, or if you sign up as a distributor they are only $17.55

doTERRA has an EOMega with essential oils and Omega 3 fatty acids. These are my personal favorite as they have no after burp and I am a little sensitive to this. EO Mega®
Essential Oil Omega Complex

dōTERRA®'s EO Mega® is a unique formula of CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade™ essential oils clove, frankincense, thyme, cumin, wild orange, peppermint, ginger, and German chamomile, and a proprietary blend of marine and land-sourced omega fatty acids from flaxseed, pomegranate seed, evening primrose, cranberry seed, and concentrated fish oils. Omega fatty acids have been shown to support healthy joint function and brain health. A daily dose of EO Mega provides 1 gram of marine oils, 1 gram of land oils, and 60 mg of the EO Mega essential oil blend. It uses only clean and pure sources of concentrated fish oils and is enteric coated to prevent the fishy return of inferior omega fatty acid products. The cost on these is $39.33 or it is $29.50 if you are a distributor.

I also have tried a couple of the products from Advanced Naturals, that I liked as well.

Game on Diet Day 4

Okay so today is my day off from my eating, and it has been nice not to have to worry about what I am going to eat in 2-4 hours... It is really a lot of work eating that often, but I am rarely hungry. I probably haven't eaten as much as I normally would have, just because I am not hungry. I am not taking a break from my water as I have actually enjoyed that new habit. 3 liters seemed so overwhelming at first, but really I usually have this drank by about 3 or 4 in the afternoon. My skin is loving it, and so is my digestive system actually. I will leave it at that, no need to totally offend you.

I took my day off from exercise yesterday so I had to exercise today, I ran 30 minutes on my treadmill. I ran 2.06 miles in 30 minutes, this is not the distance I was hoping for as I am just starting to train for the Ragnar Relay in June. I need to be at least running a 9 minute mile, so I have a lot of work to do. I will post my times and distances each time I run to help motivate me to do better. I did improve my time from my first training run last year, but that was 9 days post baby, so I had a good excuse, this time I am 1/2 of a mile further in the same time, which doesn't seem like much considering my condition last year at this time.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Sheena

Game On Diet Day 3

Okay so Friday was okay, I took my day off from exercise from the week since I worked both jobs, and had errands. I took my meal off today and found that I couldn't eat much as I was full (not sure if this is from the water or from my stomach shrinking.) I am noticing I eat a lot of string cheese, and sunflower seeds. It is just hard to find a fat and a protien that are easy to carry around for when you are out. I have been eating a lot of grapes, and they are fantastic. I purchased them at Macey's and they were delish! I thought the soda would be harder to do without, but honestly I haven't missed it. I even had a sip of Dustin's at our meal off, and it didn't even taste good, so I know that is one thing I can do without. Hope even those of you who are not officially playing with us are getting good tips out of this.

Game on Diet day 2

Okay so I didn't exactly follow my meal plan I had laid out, but I got in all my meals, and all my stuff just a little differently than I had thought.
Todays meals according to my plan now, but they may change
Meal 1 - Grapes and a boiled egg
Meal 2 - Spinach leaf salad with cottage cheese and sunflower nuts. Depending on the salad I might use my 100 calories here to add some dressing.
Meal 3 - grilled chicken with beets and grapes
Meal 4 - Whole grain bread with peanut butter and a string cheese
Meal 5 - Lean Hamburger grilled, and an apple.

We will see where the day takes me, this may not happen this way. But atleast I have a plan.

I thought the water was going to be a really hard part, but turns out it really wasn't I had all 3 liter drank by 5pm, so then I wasn't up all night peeing.

The exercise I need to get up and get done in the morning or I think I might have a hard time finding the energy at night.

Deep thoughts from Sheena

I am very much the type of person that nothing is good enough, and there is always better to strive for. I still believe this, but had the realization the other day that I am always looking for the next thing, and find myself never enjoying what I have now. So that is my advice for today it isn't really profound, and many of you I am sure already do this.

Live for today cause tomorrow is not a guarantee, enjoy what you have now and be grateful because tomorrow it may be gone, and live in the moment you have now because you will never get that moment back.

Lavender Essential oil

Lavender – Okay so there isn't much lavender can't help with. Recently I used this as a soother for an earache. I use it in my daily face wash. I put it in my laundry soap when i wash the sheets. It is great for helping you sleep. Historically during medieval times some would claim that it would keep the wearer chaste, while others claimed it had aphrodisiac qualities. Lavender oil from doTERRA is $28.00 for 15ml, it is much less expensive, from rocky mountain oils 15 ml for $16 and butterfly express 10 ml for $6.50, but remember, you usually get what you pay for.

Game on Plan for Day 1

Okay so for tomorrow here is what I am planning to eat... we will see how it works out.

Meal#1 - Oatmeal and an egg with the yolk, this will give me my carb, protein, and fat.

Meal#2 - Apple, String cheese, and Sunflower nuts, again, carb, protein, and fat.

Meal#3 - Black beans & rice with grilled chicken and walnuts, and steamed broccolli.

Meal#4 - whole wheat toast, cottage cheese, and sunflower nuts.

Meal#5 - Top Sirloin, baked potato, with asparagus. I will probably use my 100 calories here and add some butter to my potato. Hope this all works out how I have planned. I had some thoughts today on things that would be easy to have while working...

Boiled egg (protein & fat)
String Cheese (protein)
Apple (carb)
Carrot sticks (carb)
Whole grain toast with peanut butter(the real stuff without the sugar) (carb and protein)
Almonds (fat)
Sunflower nuts (fat)

Just some ideas that might work if you need to be quick.

Recipes for Game On Diet

Okay so eating is going to be my hardest part of this diet, but I am determined to do it! So I thought I better start out with some good recipes to keep me on track!

Bean and Vegetable Chili

3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 pound ground beef, pork, turkey, or chicken
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 onion, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 small eggplants, cubed
1 medium zucchini, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
1 cup mushrooms, quartered
1 fresh or dried hot chile, seeded and minced
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano leaves
1 cup canned tomato, seeded and chopped
4 cups canned kidney beans, liquid reserved
Vegetable stock as needed (about two cups)
Fresh cilantro for garnish

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium; add the meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned. Remove meat from pan and drain off all but three tablespoons of fat.

Heat the pan over medium-high. Add the onion and garlic; cook for about a minute. Add the vegetables; cook for 10 minutes or until they start to caramelize and dry out.

Add the seasonings and stir, then add the tomatoes and beans with enough of their liquid to submerge everything (use the stock if there isn't enough). Bring the mixture to a boil and cook about 15 minutes. Garnish with cilantro. Serves six.

Honey Almond Oatmeal with Spinach, Mushroom and Pepper Omelette
(2 servings)
Print Recipe

1 cup dried oatmeal
1 cup skim or fat-free milk
2 Tablespoon slivered raw almonds
2 teaspoons honey
5 egg whites, 1 whole egg
4 cups baby spinach (raw, cooked, frozen, fresh?)
1 cup fresh button mushrooms-sliced
1 medium red pepper-diced

In a medium hot pan add diced red pepper and sauté for three minutes. Add mushrooms to pan and continue cooking for an additional three to four minutes. Add spinach and garlic to pan and season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from pan and set aside.

Begin cooking oatmeal in water on medium heat. Do not boil. Stir occasionally. Add half beaten egg mixture to half the vegetable mixture, return to sauté pan and season with salt and pepper. (You can make the entire egg mixture and cut in half when serving.)

When serving oatmeal, drizzle some honey and sprinkle some almonds on each serving.

TIP: To add variety to this dish, you can simply add one serving of protein powder to your oatmeal while cooking. This will offer a number of variations in flavor and also ensures you get the appropriate portion of protein-to-carbohydrate ratio. It is especially useful if you don't have enough time to prepare the omelet.

Country Style Vegetable Soup with Roast Turkey Sandwich
Print Recipe
(6 servings)

1 pound carrots, peeled
1 pound parsnips, peeled
1 large sweet potato, peeled
1 small butternut squash, peeled and seeded
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 Tablespoon fresh thyme - chopped
2 cloves garlic - minced
3 to 4 cups chicken or vegetable stock

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Cut carrots, parsnips, sweet potato and squash into 1-inch cubes. Place in a large bowl and season with salt and pepper, thyme, garlic and toss in olive oil. Place in a single layer on sheet pans and roast in oven for 25 to 30 minutes or until tender. While vegetables are roasting, heat three cups of stock in a large saucepan.

Once vegetables are cooked, coarsely puree in batches with the warmed stock and return to pot. Do not over-puree the vegetables, as you want a chunky, hearty consistency. Add more stock or water if too thick. Season to taste. Serve with a whole- grain turkey sandwich with low- fat dressing.

TIP: When pureeing hot liquid such as soup, be careful not to fill your blender above half way as hot liquids expand when liquidized. Also, soup is a perfect lunchtime or snack/mini-meal alternative. A good idea is to make a large batch (i.e., double this recipe) and freeze individual portions so you always have an option if you get busy and need something quick and nutritious.

Project Feng Shui & Organize my house!!

Okay so here are the pictures I have been promising... I started with the finished product and worked my way backwards..

My playroom is located on the East of my home. This direction is helpful for feeling enthusiastic, confident and assertive; it strengthens the desire to start new projects and be alert, focus on the details and get things right. What a great place to learn and play. I have place some aragonite stones in here to help with patience as too much of this energy can cause frustration.

Here is my little Bridger messing everything I am trying to put away.

And here is everything that I got rid of or moved to a different room. How does this happen!

Ick no wonder my kids didn't want to go play in here!!
Here are some great ways to get rid of blackheads. A dear friend sent me an article and so here are some of the things that I found there.
Lime Juice

1. Make a lotion with equal parts of lime juice, almond oil and glycerin and apply on the face. It will not only cure blackheads but the discoloring spots on the face too.

Honey

1. Warm a little honey and apply on the trouble area.
2. Wash off after 10-15 minutes.

Steam and moisturizer

1. Put a hot towel over your face for 10 minutes.
2. If you let it sit then the black heads can come to the surface.
3. Wash with warm water and natural face wash .
4. Close pores with cold water and apply oil-free moisturizer.
5. Then rub alcohol on it for five minutes

Lime Juice & Salt

Another way to get rid of blackheads is to mix salt with lime juice and rub it all over your face.

Happy Valentines Day!!

I hope you all have a Happy Valentines day!!!

Prepardeness Storage Week 7

Okay this week stock up on your cooking oils. I would recommend coconut oil as it will not go rancid, and it is so wonderful for your health. A good quality pure coconut oil will be solid at room temperature and melt into a liquid when cooking. It really doesn't have much of a flavor, I like this since some of the oils do have a little bit of a flavor to them that can't be used in everything. If you use butter it will store well in the freezer. So stock up this week. And remember to find your coupons.

Exercise

Okay so I have to admit, life has been so hectic lately that I have not been getting my 20 minutes in everyday. And I am really feeling it... I have found that when I am exercising regularly I:
Have more Energy
Have more Self-confidence
Am generally Happier
Tend to get more accomplished
Sleep better

So not only does it help my physical body, but my emotions as well. So starting today I am going to get it done!! No more excuses, cause there will always be something else to do. I need to make this a priority! Plus I am training for the Ragnar Relay in June, and I don't want to be the slow one on the team.

Project Feng Shui & Organize my house!!

Okay so I have been a little sidetracked with this project, between work, and kids, and work and no sleep... So I am getting back on track today. No worries the play room is still clean, and I am headed in the boys rooms today!! And yes pictures will be up tonight!

Project Feng Shui & Organize my house!!

Okay so yesterday cleaning and organizing my bonus room was a lot of work, it seemed like just when I got one area all cleaned and put away my kids were right behind me to mess it up. But I did get rid of a lot of junk, and garbage that was in that room, and actually made room for the Air Hockey Table my son got for Christmas. It is a room that I would like to be in now, and I am sure my kids feel the same way.

I ended up separating the kids toys into categories, learning and musical toys, cars, building toys, sports stuff, stuffed animals, tools, and misc toys. I am going to leave the stuffed animals, tools, and building toys in the play room all the time and then the other three bins are going to be rotated one will go in the play room, one in the closet downstairs (so they have something down there) and one will go away for a week or two. Then I will change the rotation so that they constantly have a new group of toys to play with. That way they are not so overwhelmed with all their toys, and they always feel like they have new toys.

Now here is for the real challenge, each night before bed as part of the night time routine we will go into the play room and pick up all our toys and put them away. That way this room will always stay clean and all that I will ever need to do is run a vacuum, dust, and and occasional window cleaning and wall wipe down. I will post pictures soon so you can see why it took me all day!!

Today's project will be Bridger's room, there is a lot that I need to go through and box up that he has outgrown. Hopefully this won't be as long of a process as the bonus room since there are very few things for them to get out.

HealthTip of the day

When older adults participate in strength training programs, their self-confidence and self-esteem improve, which has a strong impact on their overall quality of life.

Valentines is coming

I figured with this wonderful holiday of love right around the corner I might put a post about lack of desire for all you ladies. For those of you who don't need any help here, I can guarantee you have a friend that does, since approximately 33% of women between 18 and 59 years of age reported a loss of desire for at least a few months over the last year according to a National Health and Social Life Survey . It is rare for men to have this problem, but I am sure there is always an exception to the rule.

Some of the causes of this could be physical, while some are psychological.

Physical causes

* Anemia, which is very common in women because of iron loss during periods.
* Alcoholism.
* Drug abuse.
* Major diseases such as diabetes.
* Post-baby. It is almost certainly linked to hormonal changes that occur at this time. The general trauma of childbirth also plays a part - and after having a baby, many women are too exhausted to think about sex.
* Prescribed drugs, particularly tranquillizers.
* Hyperprolactinaemia - a rare disorder in which the pituitary gland is overactive.
* Other hormone abnormalities: leading Swiss gynecologist Dr Michael Nemec claims that abnormalities in the production of luteinising hormone (LH) often cause lack of desire. And top British gynecologist John Studd says that many women who have lost their libido lack androgenic (male) hormones. This view remains controversial.

Psychological causes

* depression
* stress and overwork
* anxiety
* hang-ups from childhood
* past sexual abuse or rape
* serious relationship problems with your partner
* difficult living conditions, eg sharing a home with parents or parents-in-law.

Okay so you have this problem, what can you do....

Well I have tried a few herbal supplements, that were very successful, my favorite was Pau D Arco , which is also used to improve the immune system. Some others are
Ginseng
Ginko Biloba

Other things that can help with this are foot zone therapy, massage therapy and energy work.

Hope you all have a happy valentines day!!!

JOHN HOPKINS-LATEST FINDINGS ON CANCER

I received this in an e-mail a few years ago, but feel it is important information to share.

JOHN HOPKINS-LATEST FINDINGS ON CANCER

Sounds like we all need to make a few minor adjustments to our routine.

An interesting read

AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY AND ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHN HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5 To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size . However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system m is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

A Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to prod u ce mucus, especially in the gastrointestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

D. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruit help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sp routs) and eat some raw vegetable s 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

e. Avoid coffee, tea, a and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrefied and leads to more toxic build-up.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14 . S ome supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted anted, or unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, resentment, and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

CANCER UPDATE FROM JOHN HOPKINS HOSPITAL , U S A

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well.

Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.
Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Progra m Ma nager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers.

This especially applies to foods that contain fat. He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in t he paper. It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foa m con tainers to paper. The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

Project Feng Shui & Organize my house!!

Okay so my house is a disaster, yes I am a little embarrassed to show you all this, but over the next month I am going to organize and feng shui my entire house, and let you all see how I am doing this.

We have lived in our home for exactly a year this month, and from the time we moved in to now it has never been organized, or decorated. I have put in some great cleaning hours, but none of them were to declutter or organize, just the basic dust, mop, sweep, vacuum, and other general cleaning such as the toilets, tubs, counters dishes and laundry. I know, I know, for someone who knows better I should never have let this happen!! So I am going to let you see my awful mess, maybe so you can feel a little better about your own situation, and to show those of you who might be in my shoes, that it is possible to have a nice organized and clean home, yes even with little kids.

So today with my kids we are organizing the play room, this room tends to get neglected, because I can shut the door and no one ever has to see the mess.

I have taken the before pics, and will post them with the after pics once the room is complete. Here we go, off to clean, dejunk and organize!!

DNA & our Feelings

DNA AND FEELINGS
The following article talks about DNA changing shape according to people's feelings. That's fascinating to me! In summary, essentially, all our prayers have already been answered. We just
activate the one we're living through our FEELINGS.
THIS is how we create our reality - by choosing it with our feelings. Our feelings are activating the timeline via the web of creation, which connects all of the energy and matter of the God's Universe.

Read on if you want to know more about that!

Understanding a Secret of God's Universe

Below are three astonishing experiments with DNA which proves that DNA can heal itself according to the "feelings" of the individual as reported recently by Gregg Braden. In his recent program
entitled Healing Hearts/Healing Nations: The Science of Peace and the Power of Prayer, Gregg Braden discussed how in the past we lost huge amounts of information from ancient spiritual traditions (when the library at Alexandria burned we lost at least 532,000 documents), and that there may be
information in those traditions which could help us understand some of the mysteries of science.
To this end he reported on three very interesting experiments. Gregg Braden started off as a scientist and engineer, before he began pursuing these larger questions.

EXPERIMENT #1

The first experiment reported was done by Dr.Vladimir Poponin, a quantum biologist. In this experiment, first a container was emptied (i.e. a vacuum was created within it), and then the only thing left photons (particles of light) they measured the distribution (ie the location) of the photons and found they were completely random inside the container. This was the expected result. Then some DNA was placed inside the container and the distribution (location) of the photons was re-measured. This time the photons were LINED UP in an ORDERED way and aligned with the DNA. In other words the physical DNA had an effect on the non- physical photons.

After that, the DNA was removed from the container, and the distribution of the photons was measured again. The photons REMAINED ORDERED and lined up where the DNA had been. What are the light particles connected to? Gregg Braden says we are forced to accept the possibility that some NEW
field of energy, a web of energy, is there and the DNA is communicating with the photons through this energy.

EXPERIMENT #2

These were experiments done by the military. Leukocytes (white blood cells) were collected for DNA from donors and placed into chambers so they could measure electrical changes. In this experiment, the donor was placed in one room and subjected to "emotional stimulation" consisting of video clips, which generated different emotions in the donor. The DNA was placed in a different room in
the same building. Both the donor and his DNA were monitored and as the donor exhibited emotional peaks or valleys (measured by electrical responses), the DNA exhibited the IDENTICAL
RESPONSES AT THE EXACT SAME TIME. There was no lag time, no transmission
time. The DNA peaks and valleys EXACTLY MATCHED the peaks and valleys of the donor in time.

The military wanted to see how far away they could separate the donor from his DNA and still get this effect. They stopped testing after they separated the DNA and the donor by 50 miles and STILL had the SAME result. No lag time; no transmission time.

The DNA and the donor had the same identical responses in time. What can this mean? Gregg Braden says it means that living cells communicate through a previously unrecognized form of energy. This energy is not affected by time and distance. This is a non-local form of energy, an energy that already
exists everywhere, all the time.

EXPERIMENT #3

The third experiment was done by the Institute of Heart Math and the paper that was written about this was titled: Local and Non local Effects of Coherent Heart Frequencies on Conformational Changes of DNA. (Disregard the title! The info is incredible.)

This is the experiment that relates directly to the anthrax situation. In this experiment, some human placenta DNA (the most pristine form of DNA) was placed in a container from which they could
measure changes in the DNA. Twenty-eight vials of DNA were given (one each) to 28 trained researchers. Each researcher had been trained how to generate and FEEL feelings, and they each
had strong emotions.

What was discovered was that the DNA CHANGED ITS SHAPE according to the feelings of the
researchers:

1. When the researchers FELT gratitude, love and appreciation, the DNA responded by RELAXING and the strands unwound. The length of the DNA became longer..

2. When the researchers FELT anger, fear, frustration, or stress, the DNA responded by TIGHTENING UP. It became shorter and SWITCHED OFF many of our DNA codes! If you've ever felt "shut down" by negative emotions, now you know why your body was equally shut down too. The shut down of the DNA codes was reversed and the codes were switched back on again when feelings of love,
joy, gratitude and appreciation were felt by the researchers.

This experiment was later followed up by testing HIV positive patients. They discovered that feelings of love, gratitude and appreciation created 300,000 TIMES the RESISTANCE they had without those
feelings. So here's the answer to what can help you stay well, no matter what dreadful virus or bacteria may be floating around. Stay in feelings of joy, love, gratitude and appreciation!

These emotional changes went beyond the effects of electro-magnetics. Individuals trained in deep love were able to change the shape of their DNA. Gregg Braden says this illustrates a new recognized form of energy that connects all of creation. This energy appears to be a TIGHTLY WOVEN WEB that connects all matter. Essentially we're able to influence this web of creation through our VIBRATION.

SUMMARY: What do the results of these experiments have to do with our present situation? This is the science behind how we can choose a timeline to stay safe, no matter what else is happening. As Gregg explains in The Isaiah Effect, basically time is not just linear (past, present and future), but it
also has depth. The depth of time consists of all the possible prayers and timelines that could ever be prayed or exist. Essentially, all our prayers have already been answered. We just activate the one we're living through our FEELINGS.

THIS is how we create our reality - by choosing it with our feelings. Our feelings are activating the timeline via the web of creation, which connects all of the energy and matter of the Universe. Remember that the law of the Universe is that we attract what we focus on. If you are focused on fearing whatever may come, you are sending a strong message to the Universe to send you whatever you fear. Instead if you can get yourself into feelings of joy, love, appreciation or gratitude, and focus on bringing more of that into your life, you are going to avoid the negative stuff automatically.

You will be choosing a different TIMELINE with your feelings. You can prevent getting anthrax or
any other flu, virus, etc, by staying in these positive feelings, which maintains an incredibly strong immune system. So here's your protection for whatever comes: Find something to be happy about every day, and every hour if possible, moment-to- moment, even if only for a few minutes. This is the easiest and best protection you can have. If nothing else, be joyous that the criminals have "already been caught" by the Universe!

Game On Diet

GAME STARTS Monday February 15, 2010!!!

Okay everyone 4 weeks of a getting healthy (hoping for me that includes a little weight loss) CHALLENGE!!! I need enough people to have 2 teams. Here are the rules:

Each day you have the opportunity to earn 100 points: a perfect day would be something like this...

30 meal points (6 points per meal) for eating 5 fully sanctioned meals with no snacking in between. I will provide the list of foods in a bit.

20 Exercise points for getting your butt moving for 20 minutes, this could be anything from a nice walk to a full fledged workout, to dancing around the house with your kids for 20 consecutive minutes!

10 points for drinking 3 liters (yes 3 liters) of water per day, your skin will love you.

15 sleeps points for getting at least 7 hours of sleep that night (or atleast be lying in bed trying to sleep 7 hours before you know you have to be up in the morning.

20 Transformation points - you get 10 for getting rid of a bad habit and making sure it stays gone daily, and 10 points for adding in a new healthy habit and making sure it is added daily.

5 communication points for being in contact with at least one teammate and at least one opponent each day (this includes phone, e-mails and texts)

Here is the best part...

Bonus points can be earned. You earn 10 points by turning in your weekly scores on time, time to be decided when we start.

You can also earn a bonus each week equaling 20% of your points earned for the week for losing 1% of your body weight.

PENALTIES:
10 point snacking penalty for snacking between meals on anything except celery
20 point collusion penalty if any player suggest to any other player a compromise of integrity.
25 point per portion alcohol penalty a portion equals any amount of alcohol up to 6 oz wine, 12 oz beer, or 1.5 oz hard liquor. You may consume alcohol on your day off. If at any point during the game a player fails to earn their weight-loss bonus that player then looses all alcohol privileges for the game.

How to win this game:
At the end of the week your points are turned in and an average is taken for each team, and then a running total is kept for the game until the end of 4 weeks. At the end of 4 weeks the team with the highest score wins.

If you want more info on the game and a great read get the book, The Game On Diet by Krista Vernoff & Az Ferguson. or you can check out their website at Game on diet website

Mid-afternoon update

Okay so this is awful... I feel terrible so I ate some fruits and veggies, to see if maybe I should ease my body into this shock... Especially after super bowl Sunday!! The ease in method is that you eat only fruits and veggies the first day, then you eat only broth like soups the next day and then day three is only fresh oj... Then you start into the crazy cleanse. We will try that and see.

Master Cleanse

Okay so it is crazy, or sounds that way at first anyway, but I am doing the master cleanse. For those of you who don't know you eat nothing for 10 days, you have a lemonade mixture that you drink, you can have water and tea and that is it. I am hoping to make it 10 days, but we will see. The lemonade mixture is this

2 Tbsp fresh squeezed lemon juice (not the concentrate in a bottle)
2 Tbsp real maple syrup (not the sugary fake stuff)
8 oz of purified water
1/10 tsp cayenne pepper (yes that is right I said cayenne pepper)

It really isn't too bad, but the longer it sits the hotter it gets. Don't get me wrong I would not just make me a glass cause I was thirsty, but if I have to do it it isn't too bad.

You should also take an herbal laxative in the morning, such as cascara sagrada, or a nature's sunshine blend called LBS II.

Then at night (this part is optional, and I can't decide what to do yet) you do a salt water flush, this is where you mix 2 tsp - 1 Tbsp of sea salt (not the iodized table salt) into 1 liter of water and drink it as quickly as possible. Then upon completing this you need to stay right near a toilet for the next hour or 2 cause your body will not digest this salt water and it will run right through your system and you will need to poop! They said in the one article not to fart as you will probably not just fart. (okay so this is kind of a gross topic) Anyhow, this is suposed to be wonderful for cleaning all the gunk out of your system, will help boost some weight loss, and also help with any digestive problems you may have previously had.

I will keep you posted throughout the week....

Body Clock

I learned about this is my zoning classes, but just stumbled upon it today on this website. Thought I would share it with you.

Your Body’s Built-in Clock
From Health Lady
Articles

Although your body is toxic, it still works very hard to repair itself. Every organ in your body has a repair and maintenance schedule to keep on a daily basis. You will use this to your advantage when participating in a cleanse. Most of us in the West have never been aware of this, but Chinese and Ayurvedic holistic health practitioners have known this for hundreds of years. It is important to know the schedule if you want to understand your health problems and learn to treat yourself. If you feel sluggish, foggy, achy, or simply off at these particular times of day, you will know which organ is trying to repair the damage done to it. These uncomfortable feelings you are experiencing are the result of energy being expended to do these repairs.

So keep the following maintenance cycles in mind:
Repair Table
Lungs: 3am – 5am
Large intestine (or colon): 5am – 7am
Stomach: 7am – 9am
Spleen: 9am – 11am
Heart: 11am – 1pm
Small intestines: 1pm – 3pm
Bladder: 3pm – 5pm
Kidneys: 5pm – 7pm
Pancreas: 7pm – 9pm
Blood vessels and arteries: 9pm – 11pm
Gallbladder: 11pm -1am
Liver: 1am – 3am

Lungs: The lungs are the first organs of the day up for repair and maintenance. The toxic waste from your lungs is loosened between 3 am and 5 am – which is why you sometimes cough when you awaken in the morning. Your lungs are trying to expel the loose waste. If you are coughing in the morning, this indicates that your diet and lifestyle need tweaking.

Large intestine or colon: 5 am to 7 am is the time for this organ. A healthy colon needs water to do its job properly, which is flushing waste matter 24/7. The morning is the most important time to drink plenty of water for this process, and the worst time to have caffeine. Caffeine is a diuretic that takes water away from your colon and dumps it into your kidneys and bladder for evacuation. Your body needs water in the morning to do its repair and maintenance of the large intestine and colon. This keeps you from getting constipated, gaining weight, and looking and feeling older. When you irrigate your system every morning with pure water (up to 32 oz), your health improves. If you wait until you have a bowel movement before you eat in the morning, it’s also healthier for your colon.

Stomach: Between 7 am and 9 am, your stomach is repairing itself and does not need a big meal to deal with. While the large intestine and colon need fluid to repair properly in the morning, the stomach needs very little. Start with fluids (pure water or fresh juiced vegetables) or fresh fruit that is easily digestible. However, if you can, drink only fluids in the morning for optimal health.

Spleen: From 9 am to 11 am the spleen is cleaned. During this process, and also whenever the spleen is in a weakened state, you may suffer from allergies or find it harder to shake a cold or flu. This is because the spleen works with the liver and your immune system. A healthy spleen produces antibodies when there is an infection and constantly watches the blood for invaders.

Heart: The time for heart repairs is between 11 am and 1 pm. Your body is removing waste from the heart and you may sometimes notice a rapid heartbeat, double beats, and/or skipping beats during this process. 70% of heart attacks occur when the heart is in its repair period.

Small intestines: Have you noticed that between 1 pm and 3 pm you are more apt to experience indigestion, stomach pain, and bloating? If this happens, two things could be wrong:
1. Your diet is not what it should be and your food is not digesting properly.
2. Your diet is causing problems that are now causing you stress.
In either case, a proper diet will help take care of these issues.

Kidneys and bladder: From 5 pm to 7 pm you may notice you’re tired and want a nap. When the kidneys are healthy and working properly, you’ll feel energetic, not tired, during this time.
Pancreas: Between 7 pm and 9 pm, do you find yourself having intense cravings for sweets or processed carbohydrates that turn to sugar immediately in your system? The kidneys regulate the pancreas, and if you do consume sweets during this period, you may notice lower back pain, which is a kidney symptom.

The kidneys, bladder, and pancreas are all parts of the same whole. If you need a nap early in the evening it is just your pancreas, as directed by your kidneys, putting you out so it can do its repairs.
Blood vessels and arteries: From 9 pm to 11 pm the blood vessels go into repair mode. If you get headaches or feel abnormally tired or weak, itís an indication that the blood vessels are doing heavy repairs.

Liver and gallbladder: Between 11 pm and 3 am, these two guys go into action. Do you ever have nights when you can’t sleep during this time? This means that waste is not being processed by your liver and it acts as an irritant to your body, causing insomnia and frayed nerves. Your brain just won’t stop.

The AromaTouch Technique Kit is now available. Many amazing experience are already being reported from this new technique. Here are just a few:

A teenage boy with many emotional struggles (attends bio-feedback twice a week) said he came irritated and angry and left calm peaceful and feeling "light". Three days later still greeted me with a smile. His mother was excited to learned the technique for continued benefit.

After a second AromaTouch, a man with prostate inflammation noted perfect normal urine flow for the first time in years.

A Student, after seeing the relaxation in her husband is excited to return to school and share this during finals.

A pregnant mother - tight and feeling stressesd - shoulder skelatal structures distorted from stress - ten minutes after the technique, she said she felt the stress draining from her body.

A man dealing with occupational transisitions slept through the night for the first time in a long while.

A mother stated after she felt calm but more like she wanted to take a walk than take a nap.

I thought I’d share with you that Sunday morning my dear friend who was with me at the training, called to tell me her mother had had just had a severe stroke and we headed to the hospital with our oils. We bathed her in the oils (Frankincense & Ylang Ylang) and did 3 AromaTouch treatments throughout the day. Today she has had dramatic and miraculous improvement. What an amazing experience.

All this came from the Build Doterrawebsite.

Moon Drops

I got this recipe from my wonderful friend Katie who's mom D'Anne Moon has recommended this to her patients. Thus the name "Moon Drops"

MOON DROPS

1/2 t witch hazel
1/4 t baking soda
1/2 t salt
1 c water

Boil the water, remove from heat, then add the remaining ingredients. Stir until dissolved. Let the mixture cool to room temperature. Using a dropper, drop 3 drops into each nostril and allow to sit inside the nose as long as they'll lay down. This will clear a stuffy nose or stop a runny nose.
