Another Zoning class...

Want to do what I do...  I love my job of helping others to heal, and love the results that i get to see as people make fantastic changes within their lives.  Well if you are interested or know someone who is let them know that due to demand I will be doing another foot zone class after the first of the year.  I am thinking of starting in March, but we will see what the year brings, I will have dates posted within the next month or so, so keep an eye out.  I will cap the class at 8-10 students so please get registered quickly if this is of interest to you.

You can still just pay the $1700 and take all the classes and this will cover your cost of books and everything, in the end this is the best way to go, but if you can't afford it all upfront then we have other options as listed below.

Beginning Foot Zoning -  24 hours of classes total cost is $410. You will pay as you go starting with a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot in the class, and then $120/ class. We will hold 3 classes to cover all the material. Upon completion of this course you will be given a test that will certify you as a beginning zoner through Natural Bliss Foot Zone Therapy. The cost of this class does include the book, workbook, and certification test.

Essential Oils class -  4 hours class total cost is $25 this does not include the book, for the book and class it is $40. (if you would like to sign up with doTERRA oils the cost is an additional $170, but this includes a kit of oils 9)

Healing Stones Class -  4 hours class total cost is $25 this does not include the book, for the book and class it is $45.

Energy work Class -  4 hours class total cost is $25 this does not include the book, for the book and the class it is $45.

Healing with Herbs Class -  4 hours class total cost is $25 this does not include the book, for the book and the class it is $65.  (if you would like to sign up with Natures Sunshine the cost is an additional $40, but this includes a kit of herbs)

Hand Zoning Class - (prerequisite beginning foot zoning) 16 hours of classes total cost $150 this includes the book.

Advanced Foot Zoning - (prerequisite: beginning foot zoning and 3 of the 5 mini classes) 80 hours of classes total cost is $1200, but you pay as you go, each class will be $115. I will need $50 to reserve your spot in the class. We will hold several classes to cover all the materials, this will include the body systems, and an in depth look at how to treat each system in the body through the zone, in addition to any of the other alternative treatments learned in the mini classes. We will have a lot of hands on work as well as at home study. You will be tested as we go and upon completion and receive and advanced certification through Natural Bliss Foot Zone Therapy in advanced foot zone therapy. Evaluations or tests need to be passed at 70% to receive a certification.

This also makes it a little easier financially to break the classes down and take them when you can. I will have workbooks for each class, so you will know what you need to study for the tests.

For those who are interested in studying on their own, and just testing I will be working with each individual one-on-one.  I will charge $30/hour for any time we spend learning/teaching payable with each teaching session.  There will be an initial charge of $300 for all of the materials such as books, tests, workbooks, and my time in correcting and helping outside of our hands on teaching and learning.

Also as far as the prerequisites go if you have a background in any of the mini-classes we can have you just test out of that if you would like.

It is a better deal to just pay for all the courses up front as this includes your books, and all the extras such as the oils and herbs with both of the classes, and you get to attend all the classes. But if it is easier for you to break them down it is a great option. It also allows for you to get your beginning certification and then catch the next round of classes instead of having to do them all at once.

As soon as I have enough interest in a class I will go ahead with it, so please e-mail me if you are interested and as soon as I have at least 3 students and no more than 8 students I will begin a session of zoning classes.  I will do a mini class as soon as there is a minimum of 5 interested in that class.  If I have 3 that are interested in the entire thing I will be happy to do the entire course with the commitment of all 3 being to the mini classes as well.  I will also do the Mini courses randomly throughout the year, so if you are only interested in the mini courses I will be doing those much more frequently.  Please check the blog or the facebook page to find out dates and times.

Healing Stones Mini Class
Beginning Foot Zoning
Essential Oils mini class
Healing with Herbs Mini Class
Hand Zoning Class
Energy Work Class
Advanced Foot Zone Class

The tests for each of the classes will be scheduled with each class. The mini classes will not be tested until the advanced class.

I will also be putting together some nice fun little kits for those starting out zoning, I will have the kits and prices for the beginning foot zoning class. I hope this is a better fit for everyone who is interested. I am flexible with my schedule, so if there is a date that will not work for the class we can be flexible, and open it up to a different date.

Again please contact me at 435-760-5860 or sheena_olsen@yahoo.com if you are interested in any of these.

Exercise

So all in all if you can't tell yet, my goal is to share simple ways to overall health and wellness.  I obviously have a flair for the alternative side of things, but I just want to be healthy and feel good and share that with everyone that I can.  Well the last couple of weeks I have been trying really hard to stay on an exercise routine.  I was doing a little P90X, but found that dedicating 1-1 1/2 hrs everyday was a little more than I could currently commit to as I have a full time job as mom which includes (taxi service, laundry, maid, chef, accountant, daycare, teacher, landscaper, and nurse to name a few)  Plus I really do have a job running my small alternative health care business.  So 20 minutes a day was really enticing when I came across Jillian Michaels 30 day shred.  In addition to having 3 different levels, it is really only 20 minutes, and I sweat like a whore in church, so I feel like actually did something.  Needless to say the morning after my first workout I couldn't' get out of bed I was so sore... okay so I did eventually find my way out of bed, but I was sore.  So I wanted to share with you all, I purchased this fantastic at home workout on Amazon.com (are you surprised this is where I get everything!!)  What are you waiting for go get it ordered and shred with me!!  I have done it 5 days of the last 7 and have lost 3 lbs. (kind of watching what I eat but nothing extreme).  Really only $10.99, this is an awesome price since you would pay at least that for a gym membership (that you probably won't use because you don't have time, don't want to leave your house... you know how it goes.)  This workout combines a warm-up, and then 3 circuts of 6 minutes  3 minutes strength training 2 minutes cardio, and 1 minute abs and then a nice cool-down.  According to Jillian this is the most effective way to exercise, and after the workout she put me through I believe her.

Health & Wellness Remedies A-Z: Abscess

Abscess:
A localized collection of pus in part of the body formed by tissue disintegration and surrounded by an inflamed area.1
Herbs:

Black ointment from Nature’s Sunshine (healing drawing salve) – externally until abscess opens1
PLS II from Nature’s Sunshine (poultice) – missed with aloe vera, oil or water for a paste1
Golden Salve from Nature’s Sunshine (antiseptic) 1
Silver Shield from Nature’s Sunshine  (Antibacterial) 1
Blood build from Nature’s Sunshine  (weak liver) 1
BP-X from Nature’s Sunshine (blood purifier) 1
E-Tea from Nature’s Sunshine (whole body cleanse) 1
Burdock (cleanse) 1
Sliperry Elm (soft tissue support) 1
Lymphatic drainage from Nature’s Sunshine 1
Lymph gland cleanser from Nature’s Sunshine 1
Lymph gland cleanse –HY from Nature’s Sunshine 1
Nature’s Noni (for inflammation) from Nature’s Sunshine 1
Lobelia (to cleanse) 1
Marshmallow (soft tissue repair) 1
Carotenoid blend1

Essential Oils:

Tea Tree/Melaleuca (to bring to a head) 1
Frankincense (to bring to a head, to dry and close open abscess) 1
Helichrysum (to bring to a head) 1
Lemon (to bring to a head) 1
Rosemary (to bring to a head) 1
Thyme (to dry and close open abscess) 1
Myrrh (to dry and close open abscess) 1
Clove2
OnGuard2
Purify2
Roman chamomile2
Wintergreen2

Reflex area:
Work the area of the abscess on the foot.  You will also want to work the lymphatic system (the outside, top, and inside of the foot, along with the reflex of the spleen and thymus gland)
Energy work:
Do a two-point on the area.
Depending on where the abscess is would depend on which chakra is associated.  But an abscess of the mouth/tooth would be associated with the throat chakra.  And you would just want to balance that chakra.
Healing Stones:
·         Blue lace agate
·         Opal
·         Amethyst
·         Smoky quarts
Emotions that may cause the problem:
·         Fermenting thoughts over hurts, slights, and revenge.  New thought pattern for this is:  I allow my thoughts to be free.  The past is over.  I am at peace. 4
·         Seething; unresolved hurt feelings. 5
·         Wanting revenge. 5
·         Festering feelings. 5
·         Stagnation. 5
·         Holding on to an old concept. 5
Other remedies:
Take a slice of peeled potato (about 1 in. thick) and place it over the abscess or boil and secure it there with tape. Leave it on there for a couple hours and it will pull the poison out. You can see the poisons on the potato.
Apply a cloth soaked in one part lobelia and three parts mullein in warm water to bring the affected area to a head. Puncture lightly with a sterilized needle, and wash gently. Garlic oil will help defend against infection. Apply vitamin E oil twice a day to speed the healing process.
B-complex, lecithin, and zinc will defend against future sores.
Apply wintergreen oil, cayenne extract, or a strong comfrey root tea. This will help bring the affected area to a head and aid in drying and mending the abscess or boil. Top of Form

Overload

Do you ever feel like this?  Lately I have, I feel so overwhelmed with life.  Typically this is because I over commit myself to everything anyone asks of me and don't take enough time for me.  While in class one of my students was talking about some therapy that she was doing and her therapist told her to take a pitcher of water and fill it up and each time she did something for someone else to take a cup of water out of the pitcher, and each time she did something for herself she could put a cup back in.  Well by the end of the day her pitcher was empty and she had nothing to give...  Is this you do you remember to take time to fill your pitcher back up?  I know sometimes this is me.  I also know that sometimes when I finally do take the time to fill up my pitcher I feel guilty about it.  So here is the question of the day.  How do we not let your pitcher empty out and not feel guilty for filling it up?   For me as all of you know I read (but I have to make sure that it is something for me not something for my students, or for my family, but just for me), I like to take relaxing bubble baths, I exercise (sometimes this is for me and sometimes it is for the status of keeping up and looking good, probably more effective when it is just for me), I craft, and I get online and look at blogs or facebook.  Sometimes I feel like the choices I make and the lifestyle path I am trying to choose overwhelms me too.  I sometimes get down on myself for not being the "perfect person"  which in case you were wondering in my mind is:  Someone who has a passion for what they do, exercises, keeps on the positive side, eats healthy (this means grains, meats, dairy, fruits and veggies, and no sugar or processed crap), does as much as she can naturally (so using oils and herbs instead of meds, using the least amount of chemical laiden products as she can) gets plenty of rest, drinks lots of water, is constantly learning new things, has a clean home, teaches her children,  and they are happy smart children, finds time daily for god, and spends quality intimate time with her husband.  Do I do all this?  No not so much, am I trying to do all this absolutely.   Usually where I find my mistake is that I don't recognize that as long as I am making an effort and moving forward one step at a time, I am making progress.  And that is all I can ask for is to make progress.  I also find that one little mistake (like the bowl of lucky charms I had for breakfast instead of the fruit smoothie) I beat myself up over it until I am miserable.  Moderation and balance in all things, and remembering that I don't have to be the best at everything, just the best version of me I can be at that moment.  I hope you will share with me what you do to help keep your pitcher full.

Fun Fall Recipe

Looking for a way to use up some of your produce from the garden well here is a great way.  In addition you will be helping your body detoxify.  Cabbage is a great detoxifier and is reputed to aid the digestion, detoxify the stomach and upper bowels, cleanse the liver and reduce the risk of certain cancers.  It is rich in folate, vitamins C & E, potassium, iron, betacarotene and thiamin, and is well known for its potent antiviral and antibacterial qualities.

Fresh Cabbage Soup

Ingredients:
serves 4
1 small turnip
2 carrots
3 tbsp olive oil
1  large onion sliced
 2 celery sticks sliced
1 white cabbage
5 C vegetable stock
1 sharp eating apple, cored, peeled and chopped
2 bay leaves
1 tsp. pickled cucumber juice or lemon juice
freshly ground black pepper
fresh herbs to garnish

Cut the turnip and carrots into matchstick strips.  Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the turnip, carrots, onion and celery for 10 min.

Coarsley shred the cabbage, and add to the pan.  Pour in the vegetable stock, add the chopped apple, bay leaves and chopped parsley and bring to a boil.  Cover and simmer for 40 minutes or until the veggies are tender.

Remove and discard the bay leaves, then stir in the cucumber juie or lemon juice and season with freshly ground black pepper.  Serve hot, garnish with fresh herbs.

Recipe from The detox diet cook book by Nicola Gaimes.  It has a ton of great recipes that are healthy for you.  In addition to a few ways to detoxify your body through your diet.  Some of the recipes are kind of different, but most of them are really delicious!!

Positive Thought for the day

Everything is working out for my highest good.  Oout of this situation only good will come.  I am safe.

Fun Fact

Supercharge your breast cancer protection with two common supplements.  A recent study reveals that combining a simple multi-vitamin with a 1000 mg dose of calcium is all it takes to lower your breast cancer risk 40% or more!!!  If you can getting the real stuff in is even better.  Try eating 2 cups of fresh produce and 3-4 servings of low or non-fat dairy each day to get the same protection!!  Nature's sunshine has a great supplement line, check out my shop for supplements page if you want to purchase.

Miss me?

Okay so it has been a while since I posted much on the blog.  I have been extremely busy being mom, and wife, which are a lot of fun too.  Finding balance in life is something I am really striving for, I am sure any of you who play more than one role in life can relate.  I am hoping to get more up and running soon, so stay tuned.

I hope you will all notice my shopping pages that are coming along slowly but surely.  I will have those up and running hopefully completely by the end of the month.

For anyone who didn't hear I am currently zoning at Revive Salon & Spa.  It is a cute little salon in Logan, so it is a little less of a drive for most of my clientele.  It is also a much more relaxing environment.  To make an appointment please call 435-753-9492.

Also for anyone who is interested I am hosting a Family Physician party/class at 210 E 1530 N, N Logan, on Tuesday September 14 at 6:30.  It is going to be a ton of fun, and you can come and learn how to use essential oils to help keep your family healthy.  I look forward to seeing you there.
