New Journal Idea

Okay so I have to admit that I stole this from Kim Flynn Queen of the Mama biz.  She started journaling and said this is such a powerful way to journal.  You  start off by naming 5 things you are thankful for that day.
1. my kids
2. my husband
3. my house
4. my mom
5. new challenges
Then you continue and write 3 affirmations.  An affirmation is
1. To declare positively or firmly; maintain to be true.
2. To support or uphold the validity of; confirm.
So your affirmation needs to be positive and something you truly want.
1.  My house is wonderfully clean at all times.
2.  My body is in the best possible shape, and I only feed it healthy things.
3.  My children are always well mannered and incredibly smart.

Then your write a vision journal.  Pick 1 of your affirmations and in the most detail you can describe, put it down on paper, or print.

My house is the definition of cleanliness.  It always smells delightful, and every item in my house has a place and it is always in its place.  The beds are always neatly made.  Every article of clothing and toy and book is always neatly in its place.  Everything is vacuumed and dusted, swept and mopped.  The windows and mirrors are always clean.   Every cupboard, drawer and closet is neatly organized and all things are easily found.  The dishes are always done and the sinks are always shined.  The refrigerator is always clean and organized.  The wash is always caught up.  And the desk and all the papers are always filed away where they belong.  The things that are not being used are all boxed up and labeled so they will be easily found when we need them.  The house is free from clutter and trash.  This all happens easily and daily.  My children make sure that all of their toys are cleaned up and put away and their rooms say clean.  We all help to keep our house clean.

Now supposedly this way of journaling is supposed to help us to achieve our goals and keep a more positive mindset.  I will keep you posted.  Has anyone tried this before... have you had success?

Live all you can; it’s a mistake not to.  It doesn’t so much matter what you do in particular, so long as you have had your life.  If you haven’t had that what have you had?

Fun Fact

Say "Thank you" or give thanks!!!  In one study, expressing gratitude once a week for 10 weeks was proven to relax body and mind enough to increase feelings of optimism by 15%, while lowering your risk of physical problems, even slashing your odds of ever having headaches or acne breakouts.  So I challenge you for the next 10 weeks to find something each day to be grateful for, even if it is just the fact that you woke up ;).  And once a week express your gratitude to those who have helped you through the years.  Would love to hear what happens as you do this!  Today I am grateful for all those who take the time to read my blog, I feel privileged and honored to make the list in your busy day!

Fun Fact

Eat More Fruit
Lean people, on average, have one more serving of fruit and eat more fiber and less fat per day than overweight people, reports a 2006 study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.

Copy Them: Start tinkering. Examine your diet for ways to add whole fruits (not juices) to your meals and snacks. Aim for two or three servings per day. Sprinkle berries in your cereal or on your yogurt. Add sliced pears to your turkey sandwich, or bake an apple for dessert. Keep a bowl of fruit on your kitchen table or desk to motivate you to think fruit first, vending machine never.
