Essential Oil of the Week

Every Thursday I will give you a little essential oil education.  Today we will be learning about the benefits of Basil
Basil is:

Uses of Basil are:
  • Respiratory problems
  • Kidney problems
  • Poisonous Insect or snake bites
  • Fevers

  • Migraines (especially from liver and gallbladder problems)
  • Mental fatigue
  • Menstrual periods (scanty
  • Alertness
  • Anxiety

This oils can be applied with out dilution when used topically.  Great places to try it are on the temples, tip of nose, reflex points of the feet and/or hands, or directly over the problem area.  Diffuse.  Add to your food or water as a dietary supplement as this is generally recoginezed as safe for human consumption by the FDA.

Avoid this oil during pregnancy.  Not for use by people with epilepsy.  It amy irritate sensitive skin so test first on a small area.

This oils is great blended with bergamot, cypress, whit fir, geranium, helichrysum, lavender, lemongrass, marjoram, peppermint, and wintergreen.
